Struggling like hell with the interface, as I have gotten far to used to presets etc, in lightroom, I still want to do my main editing there, I think but I can see the potential of Lightzone, despite fighting on with it all weekend and the far better start point for X-T1 RAW in the new beta, I'm still really struggling to get to a point where I'm happy to TIFF the result to send to Lightroom, all of this is to avoid the Lightroom 5.4 De-mosaicing completely, as i really really dislike it intensely, I wish I could just throw money at it buy a Mac (Though I don't love em either!) and Irrident but I'm stuck with Lightroom, NIK and TOPAZ, too much of an investment for me to throw away frankly.Īnyone have a particular workflow/setting that they use with the majority of their files to help me along here? I'm not a PP'er at heart and I'm finding all this computer time a little wearing to be honest but I cannot get my Landscapes to be where I want them to be from Lightroom and currently can only afford free, so Lightzone it is, In this for the long haul now, so I would be very grateful for any more tips or tricks in Lightzone, as it is for the froseeable my future it seems. If you want to make your own RTC for LightZone here is how to do it. This RTC will work for both XE2 and XT1 but is designed for XT1. If I finally decide on a new Camera that supports RAW format, it might push me over the edge to plunk even more money down on some better editing software.OK as promised here is a zip of the Template file and instructions. I still have not decided, but LightZone is looking pretty good right now. I don’t know about that, but it did win Best of Show at Macworld Expo 2006.

The negative info I could find was a review on VersionTracker that claimed the software was too slow because it was written in Java. LightZone, a commercial proprietary cross platform application, delivers a vast array of effects, tools and image editing capabilities in a tight and largely uncluttered interface.

While I have a couple thousand photos in iPhoto, I don’t usually need to compare rolls of photos from a photo-shoot. Lightcrafts demonstrated their new LightZone program that they say is much better than our beloved Photoshop. Now this seems much more useful to some one like me than Aperture. If I was a good photographer I wouldn’t need touch-ups.
In fact I take pretty average pictures which is why I want some software to make them look better.
